The first thing to understand is that witnessing to
Jews is unlike witnessing to anyone else.
Why?
When you try to share the Gospel with someone who isn’t Jewish, the only obstacle you face is their background and personal views; but with the Jewish people, there is something more…
Paul talks about it in Romans 11:25:
“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”
In other words, it is very difficult for the Jewish people, as a whole, to accept Jesus as the Messiah, simply because God has deliberately put a veil over their hearts, in order to give the Gentiles a chance to come into the Kingdom and be saved.
Then, is it hopeless? Is it impossible to witness to
a Jew?
The answer is a definite no; and I am one living example to that fact. I am a Jew, born into a religious Jewish family, and yet I accepted Jesus – Yeshua – as my Messiah.
Although most of the Jewish people are blinded, in Romans 11:5, Paul, tells us that, “at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.”
You can never tell, just by looking, if the Jewish person in front of you is a part of the remnant or not…
So witnessing to the Jewish people is possible! It isn’t easy, because even with the remnant, the obstacles of their background and personal views are very hard to overcome; but using my years of experience in witnessing to the Jewish people, as well as my first-hand knowledge of the background and personal views, I will share with you some key pointers on how to effectively witness to the Chosen People.
You will also need to know the hazards involved in sharing the Good News with the Jewish people, so you can be prepared…
Stay tuned, I will continue next time…
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!
