Prayer is a wonderful source of power. There are
many verses in the bible that teach us that. For example, in Matthew 21:22,
Jesus teaches us that, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer,
believing, ye shall receive”.
Prayer has no limit; it is a direct channel between
us and God. When we pray, He listens. If we pray in faith – He grants it!
Look at the story of Hannah, for instance. Hannah
was married to Elkanah. The Bible tells us that, “he had two wives; the name of
the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children,
but Hannah had no children” (1 Samuel 1:2). Elkanah loved Hannah very much… In
fact, he preferred her over Penninah. Year after year, Penninah tormented
Hannah “because the Lord had shut up her womb” (verse 6).
Hannah was
very upset, and ”she wept, and did not eat” (verse 7). “And she was in
bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore” (verse 10).
God heard her prayers, and gave her a son, Samuel,
one of Israel’s greatest prophets.
Or look at Jabez, a man born into sorrow and misery;
even his own mother condemned him at birth. He refused to accept his misfortune.
“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me
indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that
thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him
that which he requested” (1 Chronicles 4:10).
There are so many examples of powerful prayers that
changed people’s lives...
Paul tells us that we must be “Praying always with
all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints” (Ephesians 6:18)
I encourage you to pray continuously, knowing that
God listens to you!
Stay blessed, my beloved!Alpha Omega
