Do you think that you can deceive me, master of all
lies? I know all your tricks! Ha! I know you are crafty… I know you know our
weakest points and our biggest fears… I know better than to listen to you!
Sure, everybody has their doubts… Look at Peter, for
example, who saw Jesus performing his miracles, with his own eyes, and yet he
doubted… Jesus wasn’t angry with him for that, but just forgave him for it,
together with everything else that needed forgiveness, and gave him hope and a
new life…
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for
ever. (Hebrews 13:8)
He does the same for everybody. And just as Jesus
forgave Peter for his doubts, he has
forgiven you for yours. He has forgiven you, and everyone else who receives him,
for everything wrong done, when he died on the cross!
Doubt is normal; it is a spiritual weapon used by
Satan against us, and is a very powerful and deadly weapon indeed!
He’ll whisper to your deepest fears, troubling them,
causing them to wake. Your heart will weaken, and doubt will follow… because
you will feel unworthy, or unloved…
Don’t blame yourself for doubting, and don’t allow
guilt or shame into your heart because of it. Just repent of it, and keep on…
Praise God for his loving-kindness and longsuffering, and keep running the good
race which you were called to run.
God is good, all the time! We are only human, and
that’s why we need Jesus for our salvation – because we err, and we fall, and
we really don’t want to be trying to do this on our own strength…
Stay blessed, and stay tuned,
